Bits of Future – Presentation of the Humanitarian Project
At the Sheraton Golf Hotel (Parco de’ Medici) in Rome, 2nd March 2011 saw the official presentation of “Bits of Future: food for all” – a humanitarian project for African countries based on the use of the HYST technology.
By making the HYST machines available, the “Bits of Future” project is aiming for food security and sustainable development in the regions involved, at the same time fostering local participation in all the activities. This event provided the opportunity to present the project to the African countries interested, to humanitarian and scientific organisations, potential industrial partners and national and international media.
Present at the meeting were the representatives of several African governments. Besides Senegal – the first to welcome the invitation from BioHyst –also the governments of Burkina Faso, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Somalia, Mozambique and Puntland were represented.
Also present were experts from UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization), IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development), representatives of ENEA (National agency for new technologies, energy and sustainable economic development) and of ITALMOPA (Association for Italian Millers and Milling Industries).
